Q: When you start to establish your brand, what are the first things to focus on? Logo? Social Media? Website?
A: Great question! This is such a common frustration when first diving into branding. I would actually venture to say none of the above!
I think that before you even consider spending any time or money visual elements, and especially before you start putting your brand out there to your audience, you have to lay some groundwork. The best place to start developing your brand is to know these things:
- Who you are in the marketplace
- What you are there to say and do for your audience
- Who your audience is and what they care about
Without those crucial pieces of information its really difficult to build a website that will capture their hearts, a logo that makes them pay attention, or speak to them through social media. When you DO know these things, the rest will come together quickly and much more organically.
