Q: How do you know what colors and fonts fit you best? I feel like I’m all over the place so I went with a simple black and white theme until I can figure it out.
A: This one is easy, PINTEREST!
Spend time pinning (think days with lots of breaks and no “reviewing” your pins until you are done:) until you can cast your eye over a board and get a general feeling from it. You will begin to see consistent elements start to come up. Trust those instincts.
As far as colors, I usually recommend looking around your house and closet. What colors do you choose to wear and surround yourself with? For me it actually was black, white, and gold with the occasional pop of color. Deciding to go with my simple color palette was so creatively liberating. Remember that first and foremost your brand is a reflection of yourself.
As with our style profiles, most of us are a complex mixture of many different styles. Its about sifting through all of the “should be’s” to uncover the elements you are most consistently drawn to. THEN, giving yourself the permission to love them!
