Despite plowing full-speed ahead into a socially aware 21st century, sexual exploitation and human trafficking remain staggeringly prominent and profitable criminal industries. Through force, fraud and or coercion people are recruited, harbored and transported for the purpose of exploitation. However, removing victims from their exploitative situation is only the first step in the battle against trafficking. The organization NightLight wages an all-out war against human trafficking. Their mission statement says it all: “NightLight is an international organization committed to addressing the complex issues of commercial sexual exploitation through prevention, intervention, restoration, and education.” They use any means necessary to prevent trafficking from happening but when it does NightLight rescues the victims and gives them the job-training and vocational skills they need to persevere over the atrocities they experienced. Our heart breaks for the victims of trafficking, and we support NightLight in in every endeavor as they confront one of societies most glaring issues.
